MENTORSHIP
WE CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISENFRANCHISED YOUTH, FORMERLY INCARCERATED INDIVIDUALS, AND THOSE SEEKING A SECOND CHANCE BY PARTNERING WITH ORGANIZATIONS AND THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY TO EMPOWER THE YOUTH FOR SUCCESS.
TRAINING
WE OFFER A 6-WEEK CULINARY AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM AND ONE ON ONE MENTORSHIP TO PREPARE YOUTH FOR THE WORFORCE.
OPPORTUNITIES
UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM, PARTICIPATES HAVE A UNIQUE ADVANTAGE FOR PLACEMENT, CONTINUING EDUCATION, INTERNSHIP, AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, WITH CHEF JEFF'S DIVERSE AND VAST NETWORK OF INDUSTRY CONTACTS AND EMPLOYERS.

THE SERIES
THE ORIGINAL CHEF JEFF PROJECT WAS A FOOD NETWORK REALITY TELEVISION PROGRAM THAT AIRED IN THE FALL OF 2008. THE SHOW FEATURED CHEF JEFF HENDERSON, A FORMERLY INCARCERATED DRUG DEALER, WHO TRANSFORMED HIS LIFE AND EMERGED AS A SUCCESSFUL CHEF AND OWNER OF A CATERING BUSINESS, POSH URBAN CUISINE.
CHEF JEFF INVITED SIX YOUNG ADULTS WITH SIMILAR TEMPESTUOUS BACKGROUNDS TO WORK AS HIS CREW FOR POSH URBAN CUISINE FOR THE DURATION OF ONE MONTH. THE REALITY TELEVISION FORMAT WAS STRUCTURED SO THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO COMPLETE THE PROJECT WERE ELIGIBLE FOR THE FOOD NETWORK SCHOLARSHIP TO CULINARY SCHOOL.
THE AIM OF THE COMPETITION WAS DESIGNED TO TEST EACH INDIVIDUAL TO THE LIMITS AND NOT ELIMINATE THE COMPETITION. HENDERSON MADE IT CLEAR THAT THE ONLY WAY COMPETITORS WOULD LOSE IS IF THEY QUIT.
